Halloween Party Food Ideas
Buy a large piece of inexpensive fabric with a spooky spider web we sold in craft stores, to put on your Halloween table to serve. 🕸🕷
Use serving pieces you have, black, orange, and purple are great but not necessary. Look high and low for the thing you have-trust me you have great pieces to use. Find trays, baskets, and bowls, or buy inexpensive ones or best yet borrow from a friend or neighbor! 3 tier trays look great with decorated cupcakes.
Use Halloween cookie cutters to cut out slices of cheese for a cheese board, or to cut bread and melt cheese in the center. 🥖🧀
Set up a simple Halloween cookie decorating station with sugar cookies, white icing, and tubes of gel black icing, and let your little goblins decorate cookies with googly eyes and sprinkles for some Halloween fun. 🎃🍪
One of my favorite table runners is just a sheer piece of black muslin cloth! This is a very inexpensive way to get the look without the price. Another great option is to order burlap in beige or black, it will transform your table or black gauze which is inexpensive online. 🖤
Plan for your number of guests, space to walk around the table, chairs, and places to sit and plenty of Halloween themed cups, plates, napkins, and utensils.
Plan an area for all the food. Serve cold dishes in large chilled bowls on ice packs with a pretty towel covering the ice packs. There are also platters that stay chilled for up to two hours, I have a couple and love them.
A nice long table, a dinner table, or a kitchen counter space all work great. Serve hot food hot, use heated electric trays, cover food, and try to keep any salads or meat items covered.
It's also so fun to set up a dessert table, and a Halloween party table buffet. And have a pumpkin carving station outside supervised by adults!
For parties, I make sure to get food back in the fridge after about an hour or so to keep it safe, then take it out later in the day when people get hungry again.
Have containers to send leftovers home with guests, people love it! I use inexpensive Chinese paper takeout containers or grocery store brands.
Use what you have to create different heights if possible and to keep people moving around trying different dishes. I sometimes use boxes under tablecloths to create high and low places.

200+ Halloween Recipes ~ Plus Halloween Pizzas
Equipment
Ingredients
- 6 pita bread
- ½ cup pizza sauce homemade or canned
- 1 cup grated cheese white or cheddar cheeses
- ¼ cup whole black olives and or green olives
- ¼ cup pepperoni large or mini
- 4 whole string cheese
- 4-6 whole sliced cheese white-ghosts orange-pumpkins
- 6-12 whole candy eyes
- optional: mushrooms or bell pepper
Instructions
Toast Pita Bread
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Start preparing all your toppings.
- Place an oven safe baking rack on a large sheet pan, and each pita bread on the rack. Toast the pitas in the oven for 7 minutes until they are just firm. This gets them slightly crisp before putting toppings on.
- If you make your pizza sauce at home, mix a small 6 oz can of roasted garlic tomato paste with an 8-ounce can of tomato sauce, and a teaspoon of Italian seasoning.
- Spread a thin layer of sauce on each pita bread using a small brush or back of a spoon, and decorate for Halloween!
Halloween Pizza Topping Ideas
- Mummy: Add some grated white cheese, then lay strips of string cheese in a criss cross pattern, add two slices of black olives for eyes. Add candy eyes inside black olives after it bakes. Ghost: Add some grated cheese, then use a ghost cookie cutter and cut one out of sliced white cheese. Add a small circle of black olive for the mouth, and add candy eyes after it bakes. Pumpkin: Add some orange shredded cheese then cut round pepperoni with scissors into triangles for eyes and nose, then cut them into smaller triangles for teeth. Dracula: Add some shredded white cheese, chopped black olives for hair, green olives with pimentos for eyes, and slice red bell pepper for a mouth and fangs. Frankenstein: Sprinkle grated white cheese, add crumbled cooked sausage for hair, mini pepperoni for eyes, green olive on the neck for his bolt, a black olive nose, and red bell pepper for his stitched mouth. Monster: Sprinkle on grated cheese, big pepperoni for eyes, then two mushroom caps with small pepperoni on top, a black olive nose, then red bell pepper strips for eyebrows, and small triangle pieces for his teeth. NOTE: The candy eyeballs melt in the oven heat, so place them on right after baking!
- Place decorated Halloween Pita Pizzas on the oven rack over a large sheet pan, and bake for 7 minutes at 400 degrees. After baking and add some candy eyes, and serve warm!
