Candy Corn Martini Recipe
Most of the recipes for this cocktail have heavy cream or whip cream on top of the martini. And I got to thinking it would be super fun to have the point of the martini glass white in this layered drink, so the first thing you sip is the candy corn flavor! Makes sense right?
These cocktails don't need a cocktail shaker or simple syrup like most sweet drinks. These are a fun addition to Halloween night or happy hours with friends...
- 2 ¼ cups of good vodka
- 9 ounces of candy corn
- marshmallow cream (marshmallow fluff)
- yellow gel food coloring
- granulated sugar
- sparkling water
Make Your Own Candy Corn Vodka
In a glass decanter, a tall glass pitcher, or a large mason jar, add the bag of candy corn and pour the vodka to completely cover the candy.
Cover the container and let sit overnight, occasionally stirring the mixture. It will be ready in about 12 hours. Keep it chilled in the refrigerator overnight and until ready to serve. You will see the actual candy corn begin to dissolve in about 1-2 hours. There can be some sediment in the bottom which you can easily strain out of your own candy corn-infused vodka.
- Yellow Glass Rim Sugar: Buy fine yellow sugar sprinkles or easily make it at home! Simply add ¼ cup of granulated sugar to a zip-top bag, and add 3-5 drops of yellow food color gel. Add more depending on how yellow you want it. Zip the bag closed, and mush it around until all the sugar is evenly colored yellow. You can also mix it in a small bowl.
- White Layer: Chill your martini glasses. For the first bottom layer, place a spoonful of marshmallow fluff in the bottom of the glass (martini glass point) using a spoon or small spatula, and push it down into the point or it will float up.
- Yellow Sugar Rim: Next, run the rim of the glasses in the marshmallow fluff, pour the yellow sugar on a shallow plate, and dip the rim to coat with yellow sugar all the way around.
- Orange Layer: Pour the chilled vodka into the glass, and serve!
PRO TIP: To make these less strong and or sweet you can top them with more ice, water, sparkling water, or club soda.
Candy Corn Drinks ~ Variations & Top Tips
Candy Corn Punch Recipe: Simply mix 1 cup of your homemade candy corn vodka with several cups of juice like orange juice, mango juice, or a cup of pineapple juice, and add some sparkling water or lemon-lime soda, or cream soda.
Vodka Options: If you like a really sweet drink, try vanilla vodka, whipped cream vodka, or cake vodka.
You can top the martini with more ice, water, sparkling water, or club soda to make them less potent.
