    Pumpkin Spice Latte Ingredients

Do you remember when you first heard about the Starbucks pumpkin spice latte? It has almost been 20 years, wow!!! Now known as the "PSL" it is a delicious cup of coffee for Fall and seems to get us all in the mood for Autumn and is served in coffee shops all over the world. Let's make a coffee shop version. You will need these ingredients...

    • whole milk
    • pumpkin puree (canned)
    • sugar
    • Vanilla Extract
    • Cute Fall Sprinkles
    • Pumpkin Pie Spice
    • strong hot coffee

    Optional PSL Additions

Cold Brew Coffee: You can also make this a cold brew drink and put it over lots of ice!

Sweetener: To make it sweeter, add some natural flavors like maple syrup or honey. Add a few more grams of sugar, a drizzle of vanilla syrup, or a teaspoon Vanilla Extract.

Dairy Options: For the cup milk, you can swap in dairy free almond milk, coconut milk, oat milk, skim milk, or a non-dairy milk like soy milk for whole milk if you are on a lower calorie diet.

Extra Shots: Add in some more hot espresso shots if you prefer a stronger coffee from your espresso machine.

Gluten-Free: This PSL is gluten free, as there aren't wheat products in the ingredients, yay!

Pumpkin Puree: Read on to make your own at home, or buy it! By the way, pumpkin pie filling is a totally different product that you don't want for this recipe.

Fall Spices: Sprinkle a tiny bit ground cinnamon or grate some ground nutmeg over the whipped cream!

    Pumpkin Spiced Latte FAQ

Are canned pumpkin and pumpkin puree the same thing?

When you go to the store, you will see canned pumpkin and pumpkin puree are the same thing! These terms can be confusing to consumers.
Some cans will say solid-pack, and that is a puree that works for this recipe.
I suggest you buy organic puree with no additives or anything extra. Puree is a different ingredient for recipes than pumpkin pie filling.

    Homemade Pumpkin Puree

Cut open the pumpkin or squash into large pieces and either boil, roast, or steam it until cooked.
Remove the skin, and mash or blend it into a puree in a bowl.
Use homemade puree in recipes in place of canned.

    More Pumpkin Recipes

Mix your own Pumpkin Pie Spice. You can certainly buy spice blends, but it is a great way to use pantry spices and tastes so much better homemade. It is popular in so many Fall and Thanksgiving recipes and has warm notes of cinnamon, ginger, allspice, nutmeg, and cloves. And fun to gift in a little mini jar!

Once you make your own Roasted Seeds full of buttery crunchy goodness, you will make these every Fall.

Pumpkin Bread baked with warm spices like cinnamon, fresh orange juice, and milk chocolate chips. Dense, moist, delicious, and so chocolaty...

    More Hot Drinks

Just like they serve in the pubs of Ireland, this is a classic Irish Coffee Recipe. It can be made with a kick of Jameson Irish whiskey and or Baileys Irish Cream.

Ring in the holiday season with cozy glasses of Mulled Wine infused with warm spices, brandy, red wine, apple cider, sliced fruit, and honey. This recipe is so popular, it was published in a magazine!
