1: Preheat oven to 350. Spray a roasting pan or small dish with non-stick spray.
2: In a small saucepan, melt a cube of butter and Dijon mustard. Keep warm on low.
3: Cut rolls in half, layer ham, a slice of cheese, Pickles and shred the Pork with two forks, then lay pieces in the sandwich.
4: Put tops on sliders, and brush the top with melted butter/Dijon sauce.
5: Place them in the oven, then bake for 15 minutes. Bake until the tops are golden brown and the cheese melts.
To reheat leftovers, keep them in the baking dish covered with aluminum foil, bring to room temperature for 45 minutes then bake at 350 for 15 minutes covered.
Other Toppings For Pork Sandwiches
- Pulled Pork Buns: Hawaiian sweet bread rolls are great. But there are so many options and flavors of small slider buns nowadays in stores. And any buns will get golden brown with the butter mustard Dijon sauce on top.
- For BBQ sliders, add some good barbecue sauce!
- For a Hawaiian pulled pork sliders recipe, add some pineapple rings, and be sure to use sweet Hawaiian rolls.
FUN FACT: the Cuban Sandwich actually originated in Miami, Florida and not Cuba! They serve these famous sandwiches to happy tourists. I found them on many menus in Cuba during my January 2016 trip. But they are actually not a traditional Cuban dish. Read about my Cuban adventure, and learn how to make Cuban Mojitos or Cuba Libres. So refreshing on hot days!

Ever wondered where the term "slider" came from? It is believed to have originated from White Castle's "slyder" term they put a trademark on and used between 1985 and 2009. "Slider" describes small steam-grilled sandwiches. But today, it describes any small burger or small hot sandwich.
