S'more chocolate chip skillet cookies also called pizookies, are baked into the ultimate cookie dessert, loaded with milk chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate chips, mini peanut butter cups, graham cracker shards, and toasted marshmallows all melted together into a gooey cookie.

Mini skillet cookies are typically made in small cast iron skillets that bake the cookie dough and toppings. But you can make these in either large or small cast iron skillets, or on cookie sheets, and serve them with a big scoop of ice cream on top...

Ya think there is enough chocolate in this easy dessert?

You can of course add what you love, but one of the most perfect desserts for Summer is s'mores! I love to make these for guests out at my firepit and add a whole piece of chocolate candy like Reese's peanut butter cups in between the graham crackers and hot melted marshmallow...oh so good!

So that inspired the mini Reeses...

    Make Skillet Cookie Dough

    1. In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat the wet ingredients; softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture until combined. Or mix ingredients in the same order with a wooden spoon in a large mixing bowl.
    2. Press cookie dough into each mini cast iron skillet, and create a slight bump in the center as the edges rise during baking.
    3. Add S'more Toppings evenly into the cookie dough, pushing the pieces in just a bit to help it bake evenly.

    Baking Skillet Cookies

    1. Place in oven and bake at 400 until the center is mostly set and the marshmallows are golden brown, about 18-20 minutes bake time. Baking time can vary a bit based on the pan you use and how thick your cookie is with toppings.
    2. Top with scoops of vanilla ice cream, and serve hot!

    Skillet Cookie Baking Tips

cookie dough:  I used the classic Original Nestle Toll House Cookie Dough recipe. You can use any homemade or store bought cookie dough. And freeze any extra dough to bake up another day.

cookie sheet pans: will work fine with this recipe in case you don't have a skillet pan. Use a piece of parchment paper on your sheet pan to make it easier to clean up. Shape the cookie dough into a large 6" cookie and press the s' more toppings, and bake.

more s'more toppings: evenly add into the cookie dough, pushing the pieces in just a bit to help it bake evenly, use any type of chocolate chip you love.

    • chocolate chunks
    • peanut butter chips
    • dark chocolate
    • heath bar chips
    • butterscotch chips
    • white chocolate chips
    • cream de Menthe chips
    • put a big scoop of ice cream on top, and you can even drizzle caramel sauce or hot fudge sauce on top!

peanut butter skillet cookie: to make one, use a peanut butter cookie dough recipe, and add peanut butter chips and or chopped peanuts.

    Skillet Cookie and Pizookie FAQ

    What is a pizookie?

Pizookie cookies are very popular, also known as 'pizza-cookies', thus the name pizookie was born. Baked and served in personal-sized circular pans or mini cast iron skillets, and often served hot out of the oven with ice cream on top.

    What is a S'more?

A S'more is a delicious combination of graham crackers, a piece of a chocolate bar, and toasted marshmallows all mushed together. The marshmallows are toasted over an open campfire on a skewer.

S'mores got their name because you always want SOME MORE!

What pans are best for skillet cookies?

Any kind of a smaller oven-safe skillet will work. Cast iron is great as it holds heat and bakes evenly. Look for well-priced cookie skillets at HomeGoods TJ max, Cost Plus World Market, and online.

Mini Skillets: Use smaller skillets, like a 6 inch mini skillet, preferably a cast iron pan, or small mini skillets as they are labeled.

Large Cookie Sheet Pan: Spray with coconut oil non-stick spray or lay a piece of parchment paper on your sheet pan to help the cookie bake evenly and easier clean up.

Giant Cookie: You can make one gigantic cookie and use an oven safe large skillet or cast iron pan.

      5 stars
Our kids loved these and had so much fun helping me top them. The smell of them baking was absolutely driving everyone crazy and I thought the kids might pass out when I pulled out the ice cream to top them. We are big into our campfire s'mores but I think this recipe may have ruined that!
