Equipment For Festive Shot Ideas
Instructions
- Take the top off the booze ball ornament, and the easy way to fill them is to put the ornament in a small shot glass to hold it up and use a small funnel while pouring.
- Add ⅛ teaspoon of the edible drink glitter to each shot.
- Use a little funnel, pour in 1 oz of alcohol up to the neck of the bottle and close with the screw top, and place an ornament hook onto the Christmas tree or stack them in a bowl for your party.
- Give it a good shake to mix the drink glitter, it does settle fairly quickly.
Display On A Christmas Tree
Use a small artificial Christmas tree weighted in a heavy clay pot to hold it steady. Add a string of little lights. Order the fillable ornament bulbs, and fill with shots. Hang on the tree using hooks. I added a Jolly Santa on top to oversee the party!
Decorate Holiday Shot Glasses
Everyone will remember the fun at your Christmas party with shooters! Decorate the rims of any 2 oz Glass Shot Glasses and make them extra festive with holiday spirit sprinkles! Here are some tips and ideas for your Christmas Day party. Decorate the rims of regular shot glasses with these ingredients.
- Jet-Puffed Marshmallow Cream
- Peppermint Crunch Sprinkles
- Christmas Gingerbread Sprinkles
- Red Edible Drink Glitter
- Green Edible Drink Glitter
- Silver Pearl White Edible Drink Glitter
PRO TIP: Dip the rim of each shot glass into Jet-Puffed Marshmallow Cream, then either red sprinkles, green sprinkles, or crushed peppermint candy cane sprinkles.
How To Serve Christmas Shots
There are so many ways to mix and drink Santa shots. Drink them straight as shooters right out of 2 oz Glass Shot Glasses.
Pour into a cup of hot coffee or hot cocoa, the peppermint and fireball ones are really good for coffee drinks.
Mix into cocktails. Have some glasses, ice, and mixers like club soda, ginger ale, 7up, Sprite, cranberry juice, red or green Hawaiian punch, or Gatorade. Add ice, pour the shot into the glass, and mix the shots into cocktails. Let people mix up their own favorite drinks!
Vodka Favorite Seasonal Shots Recipes: Try some fun flavored vodkas like Peppermint Vodka, Cranberry Vodka, Cherry Vodka, Pineapple Vodka, Caramel Vodka, or Apple Vodka. Clear vodka will work great with any colored edible glitter!
More Tasty Christmas Themed Shot Ideas
Celebrate on Christmas Eve with Christmas shooters! There are tons of different alcohol combinations and ways to use this holiday shots recipe. The only limit is your creativity with different colored shots for alcoholic drinks at parties.
Peppermint Patty: Make your favorite hot cocoa or hot chocolate, to it add a shot of cream de cacao and peppermint schnapps. Decorate with a squirt of whipped cream topped with festive sprinkles!
Santa Panties: You will need a tall shot glass for this one. Pour a layer of Grenadine (a bright red color bar syrup which is non alcoholic-see below to make it at home!). And then pour a layer of Peppermint Bark Cream Liqueur over the back of a small spoon to keep the layers separate!
Homemade Grenadine: For 10 minutes in a medium saucepan, simmer on low heat: 1 cup pomegranate juice, 1 cup granulated sugar, and 1 squeeze of fresh orange juice.
Butterscotch Schnapps: Can be filled into the ornaments straight, with a chocolate liqueur, or a coffee liqueur like Kahlua would be amazing!
Apple Pie Shooters: In a cocktail shaker with ice, mix Bailey's Apple Pie with whiskey or a good bourbon. Or swap in Apple Schnapps and Bailey’s Irish cream. Top these holiday dessert-inspired shots with a squirt of whipped cream, and sprinkle like Pumpkin Pie Spice or cinnamon.

Can't wait to make these!
How far in advance can I make them?
Lisa says
Hey Cindy! If you are using any mixers with cream like a Peppermint mix, I would keep them chilled in the fridge. At least a week. You need to shake them if using drink glitter, it always settles a bit. Cheers!
