Strawberry Cocktails are wonderful for romantic date nights, Valentine's Day, or cocktail party celebrations. Oh, and these are keto, low carb, low sugar, and low-calorie, now how can you beat that?
Enjoy every sip of these summer cocktails that don't have processed sugar or simple syrup. You can make them that way, but these are refreshing, light, and so pretty...
Strawberry Cocktail Recipe
Years ago during the holidays, I researched ways to make cocktails without all the sugar syrup and came up with using stevia drops.
It saves calories and makes them friendly for those watching their carb and sugar intake.
Makes 2 Cocktails
- 10 fresh strawberries
- 20 drops Stevia (liquid)
- 2-4 shots of vodka
- 2 squeezes of orange or tangerine
- 2 cups ice
- 1 splash of sparkling water or club soda
- 2 strawberry halves for heart garnish
Mix Strawberry Cocktails
- In a cocktail shaker, place several strawberries cut in half (or bits of strawberries from cutting the heart garnish) in the bottom of the shaker, and 20 drops liquid stevia. Use a wood muddler stick, and smash the berries well.
- Add 2-4 shots of vodka, a good squeeze of orange or tangerine, and 2 cups of ice cubes. Place lid on and shake well. Pour into glasses through the strainer and garnish with heart strawberries on the rim. Add splashes of zero-calorie seltzer water, stir with a spoon, and add ice if desired.
Strawberry Heart Garnish
The berry's freshness will make a difference, use fresh strawberries with bright green stems and berries that have a bright red color and natural shine so they look pretty! 🍓🍓🍓
Step 1: Pick a pretty red strawberry! Pull the stem or simply slice the stem off. Cut the strawberry in half. Lay the sliced strawberries flat on the cutting board.
Step 2: Press a small heart-shaped cookie cutter to make the heart shape. Cut in a tiny slice in the side, and slip onto the glass rim.
Strawberry Cocktail Swaps & Variations
garnishes: you can use any fresh herbs on top like thyme or mint leaves, or a basil leaf would all look so pretty. You can also muddle those herbs in with the strawberries. Just be sure to strain the cocktail mix with strainer to get the herb pieces out.
citrus juices: for added flavor and no calories, put in a squeeze of lime juice lemon juice, or orange juice. Each will pair well with strawberries. The lemon addition will make it taste more like a strawberry lemonade cocktail, add sugar if you wish.
strawberry syrup: if you like it sweeter, and not watching your carbs, mix up a batch of simple syrup with equal parts of water and sugar, with a strawberry muddle of more slice fruit. You can also add honey for a sweet flavor. A drop of bitters will balance out the extreme sweetness of any drink, and is a nice addition to a fine cocktail.
liquors: instead of vodka, swap in white rum, gin, or tequila.
frozen drinks: put this mix in a high-speed blender with lots of ice, and blend into a thick slushy cocktail. Pour the mixture into a pitcher and the party is on served with a couple appetizers.
make it sparkling: add some sparkle with a splash of refrigerator cold champagne prosecco, sparkling wine, or tonic water.
mix it up: Add in some good cold rosé, frozen frosé, or sangria for a summer twist! This cocktail is a great low-calorie base that you can do so many things with at parties.

Stevia is available in both drops and in a powder to use in recipes like cocktails. It saves calories and reduces sugar intake. You can find stevia products right in your grocery store baking aisle, health stores, or online. And can use it to make simple syrup for drinks and cocktails.
Stevia is a sugar substitute extracted from the stevia plant and is calorie-free which is wonderful. One thing to know about stevia is that it tastes so much sweeter than regular sugar, so a little goes a long way.
