    Hibiscus Cocktails Recipe

    Hibiscus keto cocktails and are low carb, low sugar, vegan, and gluten-free, here is how to make them. First you will need...

    • hibiscus flower tea bags (or loose-leaf tea in a tea ball)
    • boiling water
    • organic liquid stevia drops a healthy calorie-free sweetener made from the stevia leaf with zero carbohydrates
    • vodka Tito’s is gluten-free, and 100 calories per 1.5 ounces
    • sparkling mineral water zero-calorie Perrier, La Croix, etc
    • squeeze fresh lime juice or lemon juice
    • garnish: fresh or Dried Orange Slices or lime wheel slices
    • ice
    Making hibiscus tea using real tea, a strainer, and hot water.Pin
    1. In a saucepan boil 2 cups of water on the stove or heat in a microwave in a glass, ceramic container, or teapot.
    2. Make a concentrated hibiscus simple syrup. Place 4 tea bags or 8 teaspoons of loose tea into the 2 cups of boiling water. Use a fine mesh strainer or tea strainer if you use loose tea, be sure to strain out the loose tea pieces. Let steep for a minimum of 5 minutes or until cool. You can double or quadruple the batch as needed for parties.
    3. Once cool, put ice in a glass, add 1 shot vodka (a gluten-free brand if possible), a couple of splashes of concentrated hibiscus tea-concentrate a squeeze of lime, 5-7 drops liquid stevia, top with lime sparkling water or club soda, and stir.
    4. Make the hibiscus syrup ahead by adding your sweetener, and keep chilled in the refrigerator until ready to serve for up to 3 days.

    Hibiscus Simple Syrup

    You can buy hibiscus floral tea in a couple of ways.

    Hibiscus Flower Tea Bags are easy to use and enjoy.

    Loose Hibiscus Flower leaves are more economical, you will get a larger quantity and will need a fine mesh strainer or loose tea ball infuser.

    There are also teapots with infusers built-in, that hold the loose tea and steep it in the hot water.

    Garnishes: Add a slice of citrus, use orange, thin lime wheel slices. For the holidays, a rosemary stem with a couple cranberries on the end of the stem, is so festive! Mint or edible flowers are also a nice garnish for Spring and Summer.

    Alcohol Variations: You can also make these cocktails with gin, rum, or tequila as you prefer.

    For mocktails: Or to make it sweeter, add dashes of ginger or pineapple simple syrup. Or a few drops of honey if you like it even sweeter, which will add calories of course.
