Need a fast easy make ahead appetizer for Fall? Caramel Apple Brie Appetizers come together in minutes, and they are always wildly popular at Fall parties!
If you like caramel apples, then you will love this scrumptious combination with creamy brie, the crunch of macadamia nuts, and tart-sweet dried cranberries. It is addictive...
Apple Appetizer Ingredients
- Granny Smith Apples - their green color is so pretty, but a Honeycrisp or other red apple will work nicely
- brie cheese - creamy and a great pairing with apple
- macadamia nuts - add a nice crunch and some saltness
- caramel topping (caramel sauce) - any brand of hot caramel ice cream topping from the grocery store works great!
- dried cranberries - add color and a sweet-tart taste
- dried cherries - optional but so good!
- lemon juice - keeps the apples fresh and prevents browning
How To Make Caramel Apple Brie Appetizers
- Wash and cut the apples into 1 inch pieces, and toss in lemon juice as you go in a small bowl to keep them from browning.
- Slice the brie into small cubes ½ inch.
- Place the macadamia nuts in a zip-top bag, and crush them with a rolling pin.
- On small wooden bamboo skewers, place a piece of apple and then place brie alternating. Place skewers on a serving tray. Drizzle with caramel topping sauce. Sprinkle with crushed macadamia nuts, dried cranberries, and or dried cherries, and serve.
Caramel Apple Brie Variations
- In place of the ¼ cup macadamia nuts, swap in some crushed spiced Candied Pecans, try my recipe, so easy...so good!
- Sprinkle some coconut and mini chocolate chips on top for a more tropical sweetness.
- For the cheese cubes, try cubes of white cheddar or Colby cheese.
