Nut Goodie Bar Candy is an addictively sweet chocolate peanut butter candy bar famous in the Midwest USA made by Pearson's Candy Company. An easy no-bake dessert candy served right from the freezer.

Some people call these "Nut Goodies", and they are loaded with creamy nougat and crunchy peanuts.

Start a family tradition with this candy at Christmas, of course, it is yummy all year long.

This recipe comes from the Leaf/Olson family in Minnesota (love you guys!) While staying at their cabin, I took one bite from a piece and fell in love. I simply couldn't stop eating it...

How To Make Nut Goodie Bar Candy

When I first made this candy at home, it makes 80 pieces. So I gave plates to neighbors and friends thinking, "I hope they like it."  They didn't just like it, they LOVED it!

So this is a great recipe to make and share.

One of my neighbors comes from a family of candy makers, and she had never tasted or heard of this delicious dessert until now.

    Ingredients

    • semi-sweet chocolate chips (you can also use milk chocolate chips)
    • peanut butter chips
    • butterscotch chips
    • creamy peanut butter
    • butter
    • heavy whipping cream
    • Jello vanilla Cook and Serve Pudding Mix
    • maple extract flavoring
    • powdered sugar
    • salted cocktail peanuts (Spanish peanuts or Virginia peanuts)

How To Make Nut Goodie Bar Candy

Step 1: Make room in the freezer for your 12 x 16 baking sheet tray or jelly roll pan that you will make your candy on, and butter your sheet pan well.

Step 2: Melt all 3 chips; semisweet chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, and butterscotch chips with the creamy peanut butter in a double boiler (or saucepan/over water pan), stirring frequently over medium-high heat for 1 minute. Turn off heat.

Step 3: Spread ½ of the melted chocolate mixture onto a buttered 12 x 16 baking sheet. Freeze for 10-15 minutes until firm.

Step 4: In a (clean) medium saucepan, melt the butter, heavy whipping cream, Jello vanilla pudding mix, and maple flavoring. Melt and bring to a boil (it will separate). Remove from heat and mix using a hand mixer in the confectioner's sugar, and it will come together.

Step 4: Next, spread the nougat evenly over the chilled chocolate layer. Freeze for 10-15 minutes until firm. It will look like this...

Step 5: Meanwhile, add the peanuts to the remaining ½ chocolate mixture and then spread evenly over the nougat layer. It will look like this...

Step 6: Freeze for 30 minutes. Cut into ¾-1 inch squares. Serve in small mini candy/baking paper cups you can find these at grocery or craft stores.

Nut Goodie Candy will melt a bit at room temperature, and it is AWESOME right from the freezer. The candy is soft right from the freezer, and the texture is just amazing.

PRO TIP: Place candy pieces on a paper plate, and cover them with a ziplock bag or an airtight container, it will store well in the freezer for a couple of weeks.

    What is Nut Goodie candy?

Nut Goodie is a premium chocolate candy cluster bar that’s been proudly made in the USA since 1912 by Pearson's Candy Company. They make several other famous candies including Mint Patties, Salted Nut Rolls, and Bun Cluster Bars.

The Pearson's Nut Goodie has real milk chocolate, creamy maple nougat, and fresh roasted peanuts. The salt of those crunchy peanuts goes so well with sweet chocolate and creamy nougat.
