Halloween Dip: Graveyard Tombstone

For a spooky Halloween dip, make this tombstone in a graveyard and serve with crackers. Kids and adults love this cream cheese dip recipe.

Ingredients

Pepper Cracker Spread

  • 12 ounces softened cream cheese
  • 6 ounces goat cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Lawry’s seasoned salt
  • ½ teaspoon celery salt
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon fresh coarse cracked black pepper (reserve for decoration)

Make The Tombstone Cracker Spread To Serve

  • ¼ cup fresh parsley finely chopped
  • assorted crackers

Instructions

  • Reserve the coarse cracked black pepper for decoration.
  • Mix the soft cream cheese, goat cheese, garlic powder, Lawry's seasoned salt, celery salt, and dried thyme in a mixing bowl by hand, a handheld mixer, or mini Cuisinart.
  • On a small platter, shape the ½ the cracker spread into a tombstone shape or mold tombstone in hands and place on small platter. Shape other ½ of the cracker spread into a mound in front of the tombstone.
  • Using a spoon, sprinkle the "tombstone" with fresh cracked pepper.
  • With the point of a small paring knife, write “RIP” on the tombstone.
  • Go back over the letters until you can read it, make sure the cracker dip isn't too soft to carve the letters.
  • Sprinkle parsley on the mound for grass.
  • Surround the grave with assorted crackers and serve.

cream cheese

Soften cream cheese by leaving on the counter for a couple of hours.

decorating tip

Carve RIP into the cream cheese when it is not too soft using the tip of a paring knife.

goat cheese

If goat cheese isn't your thing, you can leave it out. The recipe works just fine without it!
