Halloween Candy Bark Recipe
Halloween Candy Bark is an adorable dessert treat to make with sprinkles, chocolates, candy corn, and black licorice. Grab things from the store you and your kids adore or have on hand. Decorate your Halloween chocolate bark with lots of sweets, colorful sprinkles, and spooky eyes.

- 4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 4 tablespoons vegetable oil

Prepare all the toppings for your bark. Cut the licorice and chocolate candy ahead of time, as you need to work pretty quickly before the chocolate sets up.
Set a heat proof safe bowl over a pan of hot simmering water or use a double boiler. Make sure the water is not boiling. Add the chocolate chips and vegetable oil, they will slowly melt. Be sure to not let water splash into your chocolate or it might seize up. Keep the pan simmering but not a fast boil.
Stir until the chocolate is glossy, add a little more vegetable oil to make it smooth.
Set up a large baking sheet pan fitted with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Pour the melted chocolate and spread it out evenly with a spatula. Now its time to decorate, add your eyeballs, candys, and sprinkles. NOTE: Try different layers or kinds of chocolate like white chocolate, dark chocolate, or bittersweet chocolate. You can mix those or add Halloween colors to the white chocolate, try orange, purple or green!
Set the sheet pan in the refrigerator to firm up. Then cut with a large Chef knife into shards. Store in an airtight container or on a paper plate in the fridge covered by a zip-top bag.
Chocolate bark is great to snack on alone, but even better chopped into pieces with vanilla ice cream!!!

- Plan out your toppings ahead.
- Cut the larger pieces of candy into smaller pieces.
- Use things you have! I had this candy corn, licorice, and sprinkles on hand. And use up extra bits in some spooky Halloween cookies
- Design your bark with a color theme! 🎃👀🍫 I went with orange, yellow and brown. You could do a purple and green one, or red and black?
- I recommend the instructions to melt the chocolate on the stove, it's really easy and not in the microwave. It's so hard to get it all melted at the correct temperature and in enough quantity to pour all at once for candy bark.
- The spooky sugar eyes really make it look fun, you can order them online in different sizes.
- Be careful to not splash water into your melting chocolate it can make it seize. Take a peek at my video in the recipe card, the water is simmering at 176 degrees (not 212 boiling) and it takes just a little longer to melt.
