- ice cubes

- Place pineapple, frozen banana (unfrozen works fine!), chia seeds, spinach leaves, and grated ginger into a high-speed blender.
- Pour grapefruit juice into the blender.
- Blend until smooth.
- Serve in a tall glass with straw and grapefruit wedge garnish and a cute straw and be well!
What kind of blender do I need?
Any powerful blender will work just fine, high-speed blenders get smoothies, well....smooth! If you add ice, the powerful blades do a great job of crushing the ice into that smooth texture, but any blender will work just fine. Stick blenders are a quick and inexpensive option to make smoothies.

Potential Benefits Of Green Smoothies
Healthy weight loss smoothies can play a big part in your plan when your weight gain needs some attention. During your weight loss journey, a healthy diet can also lower blood sugar for a healthier lifestyle. As an added bonus, a healthy diet with low-calorie foods and well-balanced smoothies can provide essential nutrients for your body.

- Support your digestive system with fresh ginger, and a good way to get essential vitamins.
- A healthy way to manage your diet with fewer calories, these are a good meal replacement choice.

Healthy Green Smoothie Ingredients
- Pineapples: Fresh pineapple is also ideal, but frozen is just fine and easy to have on hand. Learn how to cut pineapples into chunks the easy way, and to serve at parties or freeze the pineapple pieces at home.
- Ginger: Be sure to grate the ginger because the fibers in the ginger don't break down in a blender well. A Microplane works really well to grate fresh ginger. Use either a spoon or vegetable peeler to take the brown skin off, then grate away.
- Grapefruit: ruby red grapefruit that has a gorgeous jewel-like color, but any variety of grapefruit will work just fine. They are the perfect fruit to cut the sweetness of most tropical fruits.
- Bananas: Frozen works really well, keep them in the freezer ready to go for smoothies, they are great when you have too many ripe bananas. Peel the bananas, then pop them in the freezer inside a zip-lock bag and they are ready when you want them for banana smoothies.
- Chia Seeds: As an alternative to chia seeds, try flax or hemp seeds. Any of these choices add fiber and some protein.
- Baby Spinach: You will want to use fresh spinach for your smoothie, frozen won't give the right color and has a different flavor. You can swap out kale or swiss chard, celery, or parsley, for the spinach, but the color and nutrition will vary based on those swaps.
Easy Weight Loss Smoothies
Additions like sweetened fruit juice, peanut butter, coconut milk, almond butter, and orange juice maple syrup are all higher in sugar and calories. So depending on your goals, just be careful to not add hidden calories!
- Fresh Green Veggies: celery, parsley, Swiss chard, or kale
- Frozen or Fresh Fruit: green apples, avocados (fresh or frozen, and yes they are technically a fruit!)kiwi, strawberries, blueberries,
- More Protein Content: pea protein powder, a scoop of protein powder, whey protein powder, flax seeds or hemp seeds all add lots of protein.
- Misc green veggie powder or coconut water
- Spices: cinnamon, turmeric, or pumpkin pie spice
- Creamy Smoothies: unsweetened almond milk is a great addition, coconut milk, oat milk, almond butter, peanut butter, Greek yogurt, or your choice of milk all add some creamy texture.
Bright "green smoothies" have leafy greens like kale, spinach, or Swiss chard mixed with various fruit combinations, like bananas, pineapple, mango, pear, kiwi, avocado, or green apples.

-Right before or post-workout is the best way to rehydrate and fuel.

When you want a smoothie, simply add the ingredients into your blender with either milk, water or coconut water, or nut milk, some ice, and blend away.

These smoothies are spa worthy! I love pink grapefruit and have never seen it used in a smoothie recipe before. For me these were like a healthier tropical dessert smoothie. I am a happy, happy girl! I could see tossing all of the ingredients, except the grapefruit bit, into the freezer in a bag and juice the grapefruits ahead so I can just wake up and hit blend on hurried mornings (aka, all mornings). Thanks!
