How do you store them? Do I have to keep them air tight?
Lisa says
Yes Candice, the instructions are all with the recipe. After they are dry, keep in airtight containers like little jars with lids or snap containers. Have fun making them, they are easy!
Red says
Delightful post.

Isabel says
Where did you get the adorable tiny spoons from?!!
Lisa says
Hello Isabel! I got those at Cost Plus World Market a couple years ago...hope you can still find them..are you making the Flavored Salt? It so enjoy, it is fun to make, and fun to give!
JBC says
Can you use the oven to dry in lieu of the microwave?
Lisa says
I have not tested this out, if you try it please let us know how it turned out!
Michelle Agliano says
would it be possible to make a citrus salt and how would you do it?
Lisa says
Hi Michelle, citris salt is easy to make, although I don't have a recipe on my site for it yet...take a peek at my friend Erin's over at Platings and Pairings...have fun making it (and it would be a nice gift too). Here is her recipe...https://www.platingsandpairings.com/easy-citrus-salts-2-2/
Erin says
How long will these last after they are made?
Lisa says
Hi Erin, they will be fresh for up to 4-6 months, make sure they are very dry when you package them and store them in a cool dark place. I have used my sriracha salt well over a year now and it still works just like when I made it. The mustard salt changed color a bit but tastes great!
M Marie Smith says
Where can we purchase the jars?
Lisa says
Marie, I found these at Cost Plus World Markets. I will add some links to Amazon in the post for some other similar little jars. It is a fun gift to give friends, they love it! Happy Cooking, Lisa.

I have made all but the Pinot salt and really enjoy how they upgrade the taste of everyday foods without much effort. Now that I have tried almost all of them I am going to make a batch of these up and give them as a gift set. Your photos above inspired that smart idea, so thank you for making my life easier!
